GUBAT: A Back to Basic Hidden Restaurant in Quezon City

I've been to Baler once during the summer of 2018 with some of my office friends. We were not able to try the different restaurants in the area because we were accommodated at the grandparents' house of one of our companion, most of our food during lunch and dinner are home-cooked meals.










I've never heard about Kusina Luntian until I've read a lot of social media posts about Gubat QC. The main reason why I'd like to visit Gubat is for their pako salad (fiddlehead fern salad), Aurora province, specifically, the municipality of Baler serves the best Pako Salad ever.

Gubat QC is from the same people behind Kusina Luntian of Baler. It is a hidden restaurant inside the Diliman Bonsai Society with interiors made from upcycled materials and can accommodate 20-30 people. The open-air restaurant is not noticeable at a first glance, it is surrounded by plants and bonsais, the door made of bamboo has a small sign to welcome its visitors.

Service is fast, the menu offers fried meal which comes with rice, salted egg, tomato, and pako salad (fiddlehead fern salad). They also serve pasta and sandwiches, leche flan for dessert, tea, juice, coffee or beers for drinks. You can order extra pako salad, but for some occasions, extra orders are not available.

Gubat promotes zero waste by going back to basic, each order is served on banana leaves, eating using your hands without utensils and drinking straight from the glass without using a straw.
